Happy National Garlic Day

Posted on: April 19, 2012

Some things you knew about garlic– it’s tasty (especially in chicken soup, or Italian foods), it’s stinky (and that’s the real reason Vampires don’t want anything to do with it), and it’s commonly held to ward off bad luck and the evil eye.

Some things that maybe you didn’t know about garlic- it originated in Asia, was long believed to be an aphrodisiac, and is credited with being good for lowing cholesterol and blood pressure. Also, it’s actually a member of the lily family, and has a lovely flower.
