What can we celebrate today?

Happy National Cheeseball Day!

Posted on: April 17, 2012

When you hear the word “cheese ball”, do you think of crunchy deep-fried orange puffs of junk food, or creamy nut coated balls of deliciousness? Either way, today is the day to celebrate your love of cheese balls!

My three kids, ages 10, 7, and 5, are absolutely certain that there is no better snack food than these unnaturally colored balls of fried commercialization. They could eat them all day, until their fingers and faces more closely resemble Willy Wonka’s Oompah Loompahs than the bright shiny faces their teachers would recognize from class.

Now I, on the other hand, can’t stand those. But, I do enjoy the smooth, nutty taste of a traditional holiday cheese ball. With variations ranging from sharp cheddar, to sweetened cream cheese, it’s possible to sample a completely different kind of cheese ball at every party you attend.

But wait! It’s not traditional cheese ball season right now! Don’t let that stop you. Grab your favorite cheese ball today, with a stack of crackers, and indulge yourself.
